BUT, WHAT IS PRIDE ?

Pride is a very advantageous, often excessive opinion one has of their personal value, but at the expense of considering others, unlike pride which does not need to measure itself against others or belittle them. Recent studies have shown that pride and pridefulness are inseparable, but that pride emerges when circumstances do not take the proud individual where they want to go.

According to the philosopher Theophrastus, it is even a lack or absence of humility, a disdain for everything except oneself. Pride gives the feeling of being more important and deserving than others, owing nothing to anyone. For Christian theology, it is the attribution of qualities or behaviors that are gifts from God (intelligence, virtues, etc.) to one’s own merits. Arrogance, insolence, ostentation, or disdain are therefore generally associated with the proud person.

Libertinism, born in the 18th century, refers to sexual practices without morals (even in groups) and today, swapping or voyeurism are practices perceived by the majority as unhealthy.
